Blogmas: Day 16-- Solstice Bush Reveal

Hello, hello!

For the sixteenth installment of Blogmas, I am sharing with you our family's "Solstice Bush" and a couple of our non-denominational decorations.

Here's our tree:

The tree is a simple, six foot artificial tree from Target.  We have a small space to place the decoration and opted for a slender model that had pug-friendly, non-stabby branches.

We have topped our "Solstice Bush" with two felted ornaments: a reindeer and a dog.  Since our celebration is a non-Christian one, we wanted to highlight our love of animals by giving these coordinating ornaments (both from Target) a place of honor.

Again, another felted ornament from Target, this time an angel with holly berries.  We have a blond and a brunette angel on our tree to represent THE FOOSA (who is blond; well, fawn) and me (a brunette).  When I was a little girl, I could never find dolls or figurines that were brunette like me . . . needless to say, I jumped on this ornament!

The last ornament I am going to share with you is a very special one.  In case you cannot tell, this is an Anne Boleyn ornament that I picked up about five years ago at the Tower of London.  I've always found Anne Boleyn's story to be fascinating and I love the idea of a "Solstice Bush" that is significant to and representative of the people who decorate it.

Now that you have seen my "Solstice Bush," what does yours look like?  What ornaments are special to you and your family?  Let me know in the comments or on social media.
